这本书能用仅仅一百五十页从bosonic string讲到D-brane的大部分要点，而且能做到self-contained（除了最后一章）！并且有些细节比Polchinski要好，比如superstring的modular invariance和种类的关系；还有给出了一个具体的D-brane EFT的例子。
