李查德(LEE CHILD)

1954年生於英國。上高中時，獲得獎學金成為《魔戒》作者托爾金的學弟。之後他曾就讀法學院、在戲院打工，最後進入電視颱，展開長達18年的電視人生涯，製作過許多叫好叫座的節目。

40歲那年，李查德在一夕之間失業瞭，但就像他筆下智勇雙全的傑剋．李奇總能化險為夷一樣，他將這個中年危機化為最有利的轉機。酷愛閱讀的他花瞭6塊美金買瞭紙筆，寫下「浪人神探」傑剋．李奇係列的第一集《地獄藍調》，結果一齣版就登上英國週日泰晤士報的暢銷排行榜，在美國更贏得推理小說最高殊榮之一的「安東尼獎」以及「巴瑞獎」最佳處女作，並獲得「麥卡維帝獎」和「黛莉絲獎」的提名。而次年齣版的第二集《至死方休》亦榮獲「W.H.史密斯好讀獎」。此後他以一年一本的速度推齣續集，每齣版必定徵服大西洋兩岸各大暢銷排行榜，更風靡瞭全球43國的讀者。
