非常中立地介紹瞭數個經典實驗，但就像所有心理學實驗一樣，這些實驗隻能迴答一部分問題，但帶來瞭更多的問題。 作者也隻是小心翼翼地闡述瞭一下自己的觀點，雙語習得間的乾擾是存在的，但並非不可避免。雙語兒童在某些方麵具有優勢。
