詹姆斯·瑟伯（James Thurber），美國著名作傢、漫畫傢，被認為是繼馬剋·吐溫之後美國最偉大的幽默大師。曾從事報刊編輯等工作，晚年執教於耶魯大學。1926年開始為《紐約客》雜誌撰稿，與E. B. 懷特一起確立瞭《紐約客》詼諧、辛辣的文風。擅長各種重復句型、雙關語、隱喻、韻文，用筆幽默，充滿諷喻性的機智，深受讀者歡迎。代錶作有《沃爾特·米提的私密生活》《當代寓言集》《我的一生與艱難歲月》《同羅斯在一起的日子》等。一生隻創作瞭5本童書，但每一本都被視為經典之作，其中，《公主的月亮》是第一本也是最好的一本，1944年獲凱迪剋金奬。

馬剋·西濛特（Marc Simont），美國著名插畫傢，生於法國，在巴黎和紐約學習繪畫。曾從事廣告與藝術設計工作。為100多本童書配過圖，其中，《快樂的一天》獲1950年凱迪剋銀奬，《樹真好》獲1957年凱迪剋銀奬。獨立創作的《流浪狗》獲2002年凱迪剋金奬。
