将人当做行动者和目的。能力关乎个体而非集体。生命、情感、思考、想象、、实践、控制自身环境等等能力会保护而非锁闭（女）人的自由。亚里士多德的自由主义版本。困惑是，东方（女）人如何面对自己的政治传统和现实处境，个体能力能否决定何种政治形式的变革，“完全意义上的人类生活”如何在东方激发人的能力，两者的冲突可以被历史地改变？

断断续续读了两周，难免漏掉某些思想，但大体上还是容易读的。不喜欢作者太过激进的左，主张人类生存权利高于一切，一副“我们美国以前也歧视黑人歧视女人后面还不是平权了你们发展中国家也是可以的”的盲目乐观。但是核心思想，每个人生存的目的是自己，实在太赞。
