小说包含了很多信息，一些常识，不错。但毕竟是小说，要营造一个幻想的世界，在这点上很失败，或者是译者的原因，恐怖的illusion没有构建起来，看书的空隙完全可以吃饭、聊天、淘宝，只能说斯蒂芬此作经年大不如前。
