A young peasant girl is sold as servant and apprentice to a renowned geisha house. She tells her story many years later from the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Her memoirs conjure up the perfection and the ugliness of life behind rice-paper screens, where young girls learn the arts of geisha - dancing and singing, how to wind the kimono, how to walk and pour tea, and how to beguile the most land's powerful men.

读后感

很难想象这是一个男人的笔触。 细腻而柔软，絮絮地描绘出主人公人生轨迹，比电影实在是美太多了。  

几年前看了电影，喜欢那样的带有淡淡愁绪的东方调调。最近找出它的原本小说来看，一半重温这个故事，一半当作英语阅读。 Sayuri的叙述委婉动听，引人入胜。Sayuri心心念念的Chairman，尽管心中对Sayuri有爱，但在爱情面前还是会优先考虑朋友Nobu。虽是大团员结局，但还是隐约...

同学推荐的，她说她历来不爱看书，但是抱着这本书就放不下了。 这对我这个爱看书的人来说无疑是个诱惑，当然更多是为了章子怡的缘故，不得不说这封面是相当诡异又诱人的。比电影可是有看点多了 不过看了之后感觉，蛮好，可惜不是我的调调。 算是本好书，但没有同学描述得那么引...  

从灵性的角度来说，我个人是很倾向于亲近水的那种。在我今年以来人生低谷的时候，水一直陪伴着我，是我在这里最可靠最好的朋友。关于水的描述，让我意识到，人生就像一片大海，大多数时候其实我们都是在go with the flow，即使这样也还是有很多waves，有许多你需要去fight back...
