As the three of them launch into the elaborate backwaters, they are drawn unawares into the hidden undercurrents of this isolated world, where political turmoil exacts a personal toll that is every bit as powerful as the ravaging tide.

真是我最讨厌的那类用力过猛想要跻身成为世界文学的小说了呢 1. indigenous people don’t have a voice 这都2018了 the subaltern still cannot speak of themselves 底层人物形象一如既往的没有interior world 2. 里尔克的诗歌作为intertextual text更是格格不入世界文学不是单纯地plant in别国的文学没有echos 引用很奇怪 3. 如果作者的意图是想人们更多地关注Morichjhanpi大屠杀那么让故事conveniently ends with the help from the Americans 真很让人抓狂
