George R.R. Martin sold his first story in 1971 and has been writing professionally ever since. He has written fantasy, horror, and science fiction, and for his sins spent ten years in Hollywood as a writer/producer, working on Twilight Zone, Beauty and the Beast, and various feature films and television pilots that were never made. In the mid 90s he returned to prose, his first love, and began work on his epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire. He has been in the Seven Kingdoms ever since. Whenever he's allowed to leave, he returns to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he lives with the lovely Parris, a big white dog called Mischa, and two cats named Augustus and Caligula who think they run the place.

读后感

喜欢作者的POV模式。我读过不少奇幻，但是长篇不多，在那些长篇中基本都是属于一条命通刷模式，两三个主人公，一群小伙伴，小伙伴们一会儿惊呆一会儿吓尿，主人公一边开挂一边谈情说爱，最后boss倒，贪婪的冒险者们踩着小伙伴们的尸体打开了宝藏。 POV模式 冰火的...  

蓝礼的幽灵 大家瞧不起蓝礼，我是不奇怪的；觉得蓝礼得了天下未必保得住，我也是不奇怪的。然则如此多人一口咬定即使史坦尼斯没有祭出影子杀，蓝礼也不可能坐上王位，这就真真怪哉了。蓝礼麾下实打实的十万大军在某些人的脑补中就是一阵烟，吹一口就能散了，全书最大的金手指...  

整整两个月，天天在上下班的地铁里捧着ipad，把goodreader中的英文pdf一段段粘到page里的中文版doc里，硬是把整本书啃完了（看在我（的拇指和胳膊）这么辛苦的份上，屈畅大人，no means to offence.....） 最喜欢Jamie的章节，各种自我吐槽大赞。当然主要是因为最佳辩手小恶魔...

在令人手不释卷这方面，他是成功的

经过第三卷的小高潮后，第四卷再次酝酿及铺垫，马上开始第五卷，期待另一个小高潮！PS：第六卷和第七卷难道真的要让我再等个10年吗？马丁你快点儿写啊⋯⋯

when shall the dance with dragons come?

The author seems to create too many pov characters and mysteries to get the story under control. Hopefully, this lays the groundwork for a better-knit book 5.

这个“世界”越来越丰满有趣。。。看完了，感觉作者当初把一本书拆成两本（4和5）时几乎把重头戏都留在了第五本。所以这本书里几乎都是边角料的辅助人物。第五本一定非常精彩！！！
