克里斯托弗·普瑞斯特，1943年出生于英国。1965年开始发表短篇小说，至今共著有九部长篇小说及两本短篇小说集，代表作包括本书《致命魔术》及《倒转的世界》、《分隔点》等。1983年曾获选Granta杂志“英国二十大年轻作家”之一，同年入选者有“布克奖”得主石黑一雄、《撒旦诗篇》作者拉什迪等等。普瑞斯特也执导过电影并改编剧本，曾将大卫·克伦贝尔执导的电影《X接触》改写成小说。他获得过雨果奖提名，并四获“BSFA英国科幻小说奖” （1974、1978、1999、2002），以及“世界奇幻小说奖”。

和许多《致命魔术》读者一样，我也是在许多年前因为看过了诺兰的同名电影而被圈粉了的小伙伴之一。电影在诺兰的镜头下和金刚狼与蝙蝠侠的精彩演绎下，把博登和安吉尔这么两个宿敌争锋表现的淋漓尽致。因此也找到这个机会读一读原著，结果才发现诺兰对于小说的更改还挺大...
