CLIVE STAPLES LEWIS (1898–1963) was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954. 我大約六年級，看這本書，問同學藉的，在當時閉塞的鄉村竟然讀到英國的小說，而且是並不很齣名的，現在都讓我驚奇。這本書講述的與以往讀到的童話有很大不同，似乎不應該歸入童話或兒童文學，因此現在我對見到這本書作為兒童文學深為不解。

我承認自己看得並不仔細，不過也不重要隻要看看書裏那些綫條古拙但充滿瞭幻想色彩的插圖，就能大夢一場瞭這書讓我想起《鏡花緣》和《山海經》，想起《大航海時代》航行和地圖總以能吸引孩子的目光，無論是古典還是奇幻
