司各特的書充滿瞭浪漫主義氣息，尤其對人物場景的描述有令人驚嘆的功力。雖然站在通篇全文的曆史角度，每個人都有其局限性，不過對於我等非文學工作者的普通百姓來說，看書就圖個心靈愉悅，關於這點要求，司各特的《英雄艾文荷》完全做到瞭，與之相比，不得不說《紫艾草騎士》...
