里面有些段落现在读起来仍然感觉很感人。MA一直都活得太天真，作者一直都是以一个同情者的身份在看待她的命运，她的爱情。生不逢时用于她的身上再不过分，她的身份与头衔本就与她不符，这些富贵也并非她所选。当命运从小就从自己身上被剥夺，直到上断头台前，已经没有可能再被救出监牢时，她才开始读“冒险和想象”型的书籍来逃离这个现实的残酷。三十年前她离开了自己的国家，将法国作为自己的母国来生活，或许没有爱，也只有恨吧，最后只能感谢她留下了她自己的艺术品位，给后人的博物馆之旅又多了些可以感叹的事宜。可惜可叹的女子，上断头台时她的决绝，坚强还有最后一句对不起。
