書裏一直在強調不應該有種族的概念，但還是將Hapa分離開成為第四人種，有自反性。一個從小移民加拿大的同學有次提起，說平日裏無大事，不需要提起，如果你真的認為大傢都一樣，就根本不會意識到這個問題，或者誰正在被虧待。
