兩年半以後，再讀當年棄下的書，完成瞭全書，纔發覺Pico Iyer的真，遣詞的功夫雖強，卻不曾浮於內容之上。當年的書評鄙陋瞭。追發兩句。我很確信，這是一本我經常會想重溫的書，喜歡它所描繪的意境。希望會有更多的人來關注這本書。

Pico Iyer是西方很受尊敬的旅行作傢，強烈的後現代寫作風格。經常見到整頁的華麗詞藻，卻不解其意。本書的亮點是作者對日本的很多文化和現象有新發現或者獨到的評論,也有不少妙語。例如 --Christmas cake --> metaphor of women's age "Which is why girls over the age of 25...
