Images, Still and Moving is devoted to Kiarostami's decidedly painterly photographic work, which, unlike the haunting explorations and evocations of human experience in his films, tends to focus primarily on untouched landscape. Kiarostami trained as a painter at Tehran University School of Fine Arts, and his photographs have been the subject of large-scale solo exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou and The Museum of Modern Art, New York. With 50 reproductions in color, Images, Still and Moving explores the correlations between Kiarostami's photographic and filmic visions.
