brandps兄强烈推荐下，特别找了这个屋外狂风骤雨的冷夜，试做旁观者，了解贤者们的认知视角。 阅毕，不提内容所述例子，倒是很容易联想到几个地方，例如说，网上讨论颇为激烈的活熊取胆，无数人抱怨极尽不人道，的确是事实，但从另一个角度，为何被取胆的不是鸡鸭鹅或者...

基本论点无懈可击：人有多重身份，在理想条件下每个人都有理性选择身份的权利。问题是在某种特定环境中人们会如何选择自己的身份？整本书感觉只是另外一部野心极大的书的绪论。multiculturalism和cultural liberty那部分最有趣。

虽然从学理上可以更好的去理解violence的根源，但不得不说的是，我们仍对于identity无能为力。单向的政治正确在后来的实践中已经证明完全破产了。

作为经济学家的Sen，写了一本关于identity的书。我看这本书，真是看得泪流满面。对于我来讲吧，这是我看的第一本印度裔作家写的书。作为一个有着复杂社会背景及各种社会问题的国家，印度在我的眼里是有一个刻板印象（stereotype）的。 读过本书之后，我重塑了我的价值观和身份观。
