（美）布兰登·桑德森，1975年12月19日生于美国内布拉斯加州（Nebraska）首府林肯（Lincoln），现居犹他州的欧瑞市（Orem）。

作者的首部小说《伊岚翠》，2005年甫一出版即获得《浪漫时代》（Romantic Times）奇幻史诗大奖，更被美国最大连锁书店邦诺（Barnes & Noble）列为头号选书。作者也连续2006、2007年两年入选美国科/奇幻界最高新人奖项──约翰o坎伯新人奖。作者还陆续出版了"迷雾之子"三部曲，均与全球著名的奇幻出版社Tor签约，《出版人周刊》、《轨迹杂志》、《美国图书馆协会志》、《克科斯评论》都给予该系列高度评价。《哈利o波特》在美国的出版社Scholastic以高价买下作者其他所有奇幻作品的版权。

2009年10月，桑德森作为已逝奇幻大师罗伯特o乔丹的接班人，出版了"时光之轮"续作《光之回忆1：风起云涌》，甚至打败丹o布朗新书《失落的秘符》，空降纽约时报排行榜冠军！
