對英國本土英語影響最大的，應該是愛爾蘭的詩性傳統與美國英語的形成。前者是無窮無盡的想象力，後者是無邊無際的勇氣。 詩人歐陽昱的譯筆有翻譯者少有的果斷，對一些概括性、引領性詞匯的翻譯命名頗有趣味，也許此中的精神恰恰符閤瞭英語自身的變化。

這本書靠近600頁，想一口氣看完顯然是不可能的，不過前序說是“英語學習者的必備入門書”，就未免有些過瞭，稍微翻瞭前麵幾頁，總感覺那種英式漢語的譯文不算對自己的胃口，感覺比GOOGLE機器翻譯好一點，然後看瞭一下譯者介紹，原來是一位長期旅居海外的華人翻的，怪不得呢，英...

見過自戀的，沒見過像本書翻譯如此自戀的，從頭到尾一直在注釋中發錶高深的見解，什麼“字典上如何如何翻譯，我覺得不對”，“大傢都翻譯成****，但我覺得不好”之類的屁話。Singlish明明就是“新加坡英語”或“新加坡式的英語”，好像不翻譯成“新格利係”就不能顯示自己的翻...
