評分看到Empress Orchid ，其實是先被裏麵故宮的俯視圖吸引，雖然細緻程度無法和《大紫禁城》相比，但是左頁下方宮殿名稱示意都是意譯的，這點讓我體會到作者的用心。其次裏麵能看到清宮裏常常會用到的詞匯或是俗語，比如“太監”、“宮女”、“磕頭”、“福如東海，壽比南山”...

語言簡單有趣，很多英文錶達能夠體現中國宮廷的一些禮儀習俗，例如平身“rise”娘娘韆歲韆歲韆韆歲“I wish her majesty a thousand years longevity”，看得還是很親切的(宮廷劇刷多瞭)再者是情節，這個也不知道算不算野史，反正劇情就是很跌宕起伏，感覺和甄嬛傳一樣刺激，讀到每一個情節心都在跟著移動，而且不專業之餘補充一下小曆史知識還是很好的。但是曆史差的我很難辨認齣一些人的名字例如Su Shun，我不不知道他是誰。第三時是篇幅也不算太長，很適閤閱讀瞭。總的來說還是很愛看著本書的。
