这个集子只看了The Awakening，推荐！算是美国早期带有明确女性独立意识的小说，在当时确实很难被大多数读者接受，连Willa Cather都觉得Chopin写这本书是浪费了才情。看了看goodreads上的评论，即使是当代读者对这本书的评价也是两极分化严重，很多人批评主人公Edna是个自私自利矫情的婊子，我起先也觉得她有些富贵太太闲得慌才胡思乱想的感觉，后面慢慢开始感受到这种受到压抑的窒息感和精神上的空虚感。Chopin把主人公的心理世界描绘得相当到位，语言也是既简单又不失雅致。
