Harry Fielding is close to cracking up. He's been hiding out in Spain, but now he's been called home. He's being rehabilitated, a reward for his loyalty and presence of mind in an MI5 operation that saw himself and Johnny Weeks, his former apprentice, catastrophically betrayed. Then news comes that Johnny has surfaced and is looking for revenge. Against Harry's better judgment, they join forces. As he turns against the wheels of the MI5 machine, and begins to employ the techniques he's always abhorred, life for Harry Fielding becomes a deadly business indeed.
