弗兰克·迈考特（Frank McCourt)美国著名作家，教师，普利策文学奖获得者。主要作品有《安琪拉的灰烬》、《就是这儿》、《教书匠》等。1930年出生于美国纽约，4岁举家迁回爱尔兰故乡，在贫民窟度过苦难的童年。13岁辍学。19岁心怀“美国梦”只身重返纽约，做过酒店勤杂工、码头工人、打字员，当过兵，后来考入大学。毕业后成为一名教师，前后教过12000多名学生，并荣获美国教育界最高荣誉“全美最佳教师”奖，被誉为“老师中的老师”。1987年退休，开始正式写作。1996年，处女作《安琪拉的灰烬》出版，一举获得普利策文学奖、全美书评奖、洛杉矶时报图书奖、美国年度好书奖等重要奖项。系列第二部《就是这儿》、第三部《教书匠》分别于1999年、2005年出版。2009年6月，病逝于纽约。

but this is the third book of his I read, and although the rhythm is still there and the little dark cloud over his head still touches me, but it's far less powerful a book than "Angela's Ashes". Interesting to read though. And I can't help but wonder, what...
