亚历山大·埃尔德，23岁那年，亚历山大·埃尔德在一艘轮船上当医生，当轮船行驶到非洲时，他跳离了轮船，前往美国，在纽约当了一名精神病医生。他先后做过杂志编辑、哥伦比亚大学教师。1976年夏天，他从纽约开车前往加利福尼亚。途中，他读完了一本恩格尔的《如何买股票》，竞被书中通过思考赚钱的想法深深吸引，从此自己的人生轨迹便改变了。而在此之前，他对股市一无所知。涉足金融交易后，他发表了数十篇文章、书评，制作了软件，做过许多演讲，是三重滤网交易系统发明人。1988年，他创办了专门为交易者提供培训的金融交易培训公司。他最著名的代表作便是《以交易为生》，又译《操作生涯不是梦》。

They rally when buyers are confident and sellers demand a premium for participating in the game that is going against them. There is a buyer and a seller behind every transaction. 3年前看这本书的时候， 真的是随手翻翻就扔到一边。 3年来亏损累累一身伤痕， 再来看这本书真的是百感交集。 这本书讲述的是真正的道， 90%的股票图书讲述的是技。 如果有个刚入门的朋友想要学习股票， 一定要先看这本书。 实在是不可多得的上品之作。

关于交易心理，此书是上乘之作。

极好的投机入门读物，明晰地对交易纪律、分析工具以及市场行为作了介绍：心理、策略与风控是成功交易的三大必要条件。 交易员必须是现实主义者，懂得承认错误并且坚持追求卓越。 PS:技术指标部分并未述明“所以然”，需要参照其他书籍比如墨菲的《金融市场技术分析》学习，之后在实践中进一步检验。书中提到的“三重滤网交易系统”无论是在基本面层面还是技术层面极有参考价值。
