真抑郁。最后一句话“We shall set to work and meet the 'demands of the day', in human relations as well as in our vocation” 最受用。最近几年才看清楚，大部分人都在搞些屁用都没有的研究。把科研当作神圣的事业以追求真理为人生目标的念头在高中结束的那个暑假就打消了。那个时候看了《过去与未来之间》。或许并不能看到真理，根本就不需要去选择某种解释去相信。不要去相信。

在science as a vocation，Weber指出了一种现象，有些人喜欢用各种“体验”和来向别人“暗示”自己的“非凡天赋”。Weber紧接着告诫道，只有“专注于志业”才能给人以尊严。
