我一辈子也做不了科技工作者，因为喜读科普书籍远胜于读学术论文，这表明我虽有相信科学的愿望，却缺乏探索科学的勇气。 但是也没什么不好。科技这东西是双刃剑，不定什么时候就砍到自己了。 科普就不一样，它给人的是思想的启迪。也许更多的还是读故事的乐趣。小的时候喜欢...  

这辈子只读完过两本正式点儿的科普读物，好像女孩子看这类的书很有些障碍。第一本是初中的时候看的《物理五千年》，第二本就是《万物简史》。相比之下五千年的物理发展介绍，只是让我高中物理课比较好过而已，而大爆炸以来的地球是怎样舞蹈的，却是更令人兴奋。 不排除8g的劣...  

当我从地摊上十元钱买回这本书时，苍天在上，我是把它当作一本严肃认真的科普读物来洗涤我不正经的灵魂。买回来以后，我对我的灵魂有点舍不得就把这本书随手一丢积了两个礼拜灰——其实具体时间我也记不得，总之我是到后来擦灰的时候才发现我曾经拥有的美好愿望，然后抱着羞愧...

最喜欢的是作者提供的科学史上的轶事： 灵机一现却又被无情埋没、 才华横溢却被“专家”压制、 刻苦专研，结果终生籍籍无名、 天才、古怪、孤僻、意外，是科学史上常用词 另外一个，很喜欢作者的主线： 为解决地球在哪里、从哪里来的问题，有了天文学 为解决地球经度的问题，...

很多科学史的八卦，超级八卦，包括“居里夫人变成寡妇后就很淫乱”之类……不过让旅游作家写科普，大概也只能在八卦上搞搞新意思。

没空读-惭愧的说，但大三的时候还是把它的有声读物完整英文版听完了，Bill Bryson 的幽默是出名的，这本也不例外，还能将科普类讲的惟妙惟肖。他还有一本Neither Here Nor There 也很不错。
