作為留下瞭800萬字法庭檔案（見書）、調查時間超過一年、涉及人物眾多資料龐博的世紀奇案，我認為作者的組織是高效也保持瞭很好的懸念的。基本在時間綫索上安插瞭在後麵閤適的時間得到充分解釋的綫索和人物，同時把復雜與交叉的證詞以及一個齣色DA一個局內人在調查時的前瞻都講述得清晰、從容，Bugliosi不僅齣色地完成瞭這本書也是這個案件真正的英雄。如果說遺憾，應該在於作者很少對時代背景做總結議論，讓後來的讀者略感失聯，但這也是因為這個在他人與後輩看來驚悚傳奇的所謂“時代”是他經曆的無須嚮自己多做說明的生活。此外，曼森傢族的成員無法代錶也不屬於垮掉的一代，而如果一個人在裏裏外外清楚這樁集體屠殺的細節，卻還能想著如何把它寫得聳動、煽情、緻敬時代和虛無的情懷，這是不是太沒有良心瞭
