买到的简体版伪书居然缺了几十页。彭定康这本倒不是主要回忆港督五年，而是以此论述西方如何与东方（主要是中国）打交道，认为“中国之友”和“中国问题专家”言论皆不可太信。论全球化与失业、福利国家弊病在二十年后一一验证。另外，文采尤佳，特别是英式的讽刺
