虚构的伯克利女人类学家在泰国傈僳族村子里和传教士家族的较量，这个题材其实可以写的更深些啊，也烦看了那么多田野笔记其实都是作者坐在家里编的。。但是pseudo-intellectual thriller还是蛮惊人的好看（伯克利的二手店什么都有以及我真的太闲了）//"self-improver"//要是能把情欲那段写好…

文笔绝妙，有点让我怀疑作者是不是精通单口相声。故事发生在泰国北部山区，阅读此书能否增进读者对那块区域的了解，这我不好说。但我肯定作者对山村生活的描述，以及全文核心：异文化换位思考。
