想推荐给每一个新手妈妈的书。Anne Lamott这样一个坦率自嘲的作家，中译本（似乎还没有）怎么能把她的迷人语气传达出来呢？隔了四五年重温这本日记，依然惊叹于那些精准的捕捉男婴动作神态的词汇，为那些幽默的比喻和联想大笑叫绝。"Sometimes he's the Dalai Lama, and sometimes he's like a cross between a bad boyfriend and a high-strung puppy." 她三十五岁时作了单亲母亲，日记记录的是初为人母的挣扎一年，她最好的女友（生活上最给力的帮手）也在这一年罹患癌症开始化疗。日记的终篇写她儿子的一岁生日，然后是一笔记录，两年后她的女友病逝。去查了一下维基，如今Anne Lamott已经做了奶奶。
