斯特羅伊剋（Dirk Jan Struik，1894-2000），1894年齣生於荷蘭鹿特丹的一個教師傢庭，1922年以題為《黎曼流形上的張量方法》的論文獲得荷蘭萊頓大學博士學位，1924年受洛剋菲勒基金資助赴意大利羅馬與張量分析奠基人列維一齊維塔閤作研究，並在那裏對數學史産生瞭興趣，次年就到德國哥廷根與庫朗一起協助編輯剋萊因的《數學在19世紀的發展》，同時自己開始研究文藝復興時期的數學史。1926年他接受美國麻省理工學院提供的職位並在那裏度過瞭餘下的學術生涯。在麻省理工學院，他與維納閤作研究微分幾何，同時繼續研究數學史，1940年成為麻省理工學院的正教授。他的提綱挈領的巨著《數學簡史》齣版至今幾經改版重印，被翻譯成多國文字長盛不衰。
