不是很喜欢这本书，主要在于其不适合自学，换句话说，如果没有人来引领的话，其不好学懂。有些内容也略显老旧，应用上不具优势，不如Baltagi那本新的多，Hsiao老师跟新不够快啊。不过，Panel方面好像目前也没什么特别让人兴奋的教材，这本当入门级算不错，不过还是那句话，得找...

这两天正在听萧政教授讲课，就是用这本书。萧政教授人很和蔼，讲得也很好。不过这本书的内容还是太陈旧了，其体系和阐述方法和别的书也不太一样，总的来说，不太适合应用研究者。个人觉得wooldridge和baltagi的要好得多。

这本书可以说是面板数据领域最权威的教材，试看国内所发表的关于面板数据的论文，绝大部分都是用本书的理论去做实证，而且思路、过程等均照搬本书。可惜本书有一定的难度，国内文章一般都只用到本书前三章的内容，对于后面动态面板、变系数面板等，大部分人都看不懂，也不会用。
