小說成功地將我帶迴到九十年代初的大學校園。那本來隻有夢裏纔能重溫的校園生活，和那些塵封已久的人和事，都再次一一浮現心頭。遺憾的是作品中人物定位和價值觀明顯有迎閤西方讀者的痕跡，其關於成長的心路和性的探索都難以引起我的共鳴。作者同我背景近似，卻能夠運用如此嫻熟優雅的英文寫作，讓我訝異之下不由心存敬意。
