此书虽然已经出版接近二十年了，但在基本的概念方面仍然并未过时。书的结构很紧凑，因此并没有详细的公式推导，风格比较intuitive，适合在上过大气的基础课之后去看，算是一本manageable的气候学的入门书籍。辐射平衡那两章写的较好，看过能建立直观的物理图景。海洋方面的介绍略显不足，并且其中对于ENSO的介绍略过时而不够详细，而且也没有讲MJO。对于古气候和气候变化的介绍，因为这两个领域的迅速发展，当然也已经过时了，但讲climate sensitivity & feedbacks的那章还是非常值得一看的，有助理解气候变化的物理机制。
