The adventures of Laura Ingalls and her family continue as Pa, Ma, Laura, Mary, Carrie, and little Grace bravely face the hard winter of 1880-81 in their little house in the Dakota Territory. Blizzards cover the little town with snow, cutting off all supplies from the outside. Soon there is almost no food left, so young Almanzo Wilder and a friend make a dangerous trip across the prairie to find some wheat. 一家人在漫长冬日的艰苦生活，还挺有意思的，很多细节很精细，虽然剧情没有太大曲折，但是还是很温馨的，8.1吧，不是特别精彩。

这次环境非常非常恶劣了，一整个冬天不知道怎么熬过来的。受环境影响关在家里变得愚钝的感觉描述得很真实。整体这个系列越到后面随着laura长大越现实，理想化痕迹不那么重了，也越能打动人。
