作者简介

菲利普·罗斯(Philip Roth)，1933年出生在美国新泽西州的纽瓦克市，被认为是当代最杰出的美国犹太裔作家之一。罗斯以短篇小说《再见，哥伦布》崛起，赢得美国多个主要文学奖项，1998年凭借《美国牧歌》一举获得美国普利策文学奖，是近年来诺贝尔文学奖呼声颇高的作家之一。

读后感

关于背叛，关于复仇，并非人类这一族群独有的现象，置诸自然界比比皆是；不过若论及心机重重、波谲云诡，人类社会当仁不让可挑起大梁。事关个体，固然痛入肺腑，有切肤之感；可一旦牵扯进大时代的风云变幻，更可见出那暧昧的世情与颓败的人性荒芜。小说家菲利普•罗斯的作品...  

冲着作者的名号，以及小说要描叙的敏感内容——共产党人在美国的表现和生活——本书就十分值得一看了。 能出版这样的文字，还不受影响地被余味国宝级作家，由罗斯的作品待遇也可一窥美国文化审查制度相对宽容的氛围。 不过，本书的翻译我真心受不了，中文表达较差。
