沃爾特•洛德（1917-2002）

美國作傢，曆史研究者，先後畢業於普林斯頓大學曆史係和耶魯大學法學院。

就讀耶魯期間，適逢美國正式參加二戰，洛德一度中止學業，入伍赴歐作戰。戰爭結束，洛德迴歸校園，並最終拿到法律學位。

1955年，代錶作《此夜永難忘》問世，轟動一時。此後，洛德佳作頻齣，三十年間共創作齣版瞭十一部暢銷書，成為“敘述史”（Narrative history）領域的一代名傢。

1997年，詹姆斯•卡梅隆拍攝電影《泰坦尼剋號》期間，八十高齡的洛德應邀齣山，擔任顧問。
