George and Laura get to the family house. The rest of the family has already arrived. George's mother comes out to greet them. Her name is Bar. She is a former First Lady and a farbisseneh. Well, both hail from prototypical WASP families. And, perhaps more to the point, both exhibit a natural resistance to moral complexity (i.e., reality).
