小說中的畫傢，少年和貴公子更像是王爾德的不同化身，或者是維多利亞時代的不同側麵，對藝術的執著，對生活的渴望，和對逝去的時代的留戀，Life is experience and life is art. PS據說王爾德和Pater都很受Swinburne影響，從小說中可見一斑。最喜歡他說的，那些所謂不道德的書隻是展示給世界看它本來就醜陋的一麵。
