虽然无聊，但是读完后想一想还是ok的。比如：意外了解到了作为1880年时候作为steamboat pilot的职业细节，还知道了那时的美国中部的城市的发展状况。惊讶了一下原来开船是那么难的一件事，对于1880年以前来说。联想到郑和在明朝的时候开那么远的sailing boat，现在倒是真能理解其难度和奇迹了。
