The term "Dylanology" didn't exist at the time this book published. Dylan himself and his writing remain tricky as still, though. The harder one tries to understand Dylan, the further it leads to the idea of "Against Interpretation” because he has his elements of universality as well as ambiguous and specific. New Criticism Defeated.
