这似乎是我读的第一本不是白人写的英文书。非常好读。主角面临多种家庭创伤聪明的哥哥因为意外brain damage成了傻子卧床不起父亲酗酒成瘾从严重程度前者比后者大但当前者成为背景后者的揭露更humiliating 很多细节戳到点友邻评价“海明威粉转型投行人赢的故事”哈哈哈哈 @2019-03-10 18:24:48

此书真是英语阅读障碍者的福音，我花了一天一口气就看完了整本小说，简直行云流水…故事的前五分之一充斥了小清新的少年日常生活，直到哥哥出了事，气氛直转而下，变得愈来愈沉重。作者结合了主人公青少年时期敏感的心理活动，将琐碎的日常生活刻画的很细腻。书中还多处描写了印度人的宗教信仰和习俗，令人耳目一新。
