Silver Doorway #1 A Gnome Away From Home Marky of Gnome Keep is lost and alone. He can't find his puppy, he can't find his way out of the woods, and to make matters worse, some owls have decided to have him for dinner. His only hope is to ask the Silver Lady, a good sorceress, for help. Instead, he gets twins Katie and Kevin, and their little brother Sam. The Broderick kids are having a hard time too. Their parents are always busy, they had to move to a new neighborhood, and to top things off, Dad just forgot to pick them up from an after-school ball game. Stranded, with nobody answering the phone, they decide to walk to their Aunt Ellie's house. Nobody is there but Ellie's cat Chester, but Katie knows where to find the spare key. The rest of the family thinks Aunt Ellie is strange. The kids are about to find out how strange she really is when they discover a secret room in her basement. Inside the secret room is a glowing silver doorway that leads to another world. Marky the gnome has come through that doorway. When the kids follow him back, they find themselves in a world where magic is real, giant owls carry people away, and goblins try to steal children to change them into more goblins. Even if they can help Marky get home, how will Katie, Kevin and Sam find their way back to their own world?
