確實是一本有趣的書。用詼諧的口吻描述入殮師的工作和自身經歷。絕望過，想過要自殺，但整個描述的過程，卻不讓人覺得沉重，這點讓我很喜歡。隨著閱讀量和年齡的變化，對書籍的挑選和閱讀也開始越來越奇怪。一方面，越來越認可和欣賞經典文學作品。另一方面，對於冷門或邊緣話題的書籍開始產生濃厚興趣。

The most witty book that I read, and the topic of death has occurred to me thousands of times. I have a friend who dies at Berkeley, on Shuttuck Ave that appears in this book, and his funeral service is hold in Oakland, the same place the stories happened in the book. This makes this book so real-life to me, and it does make me feel much better

与其说它写死亡教育，不如说是关于生命教育。死亡是生活中注定会发生的事情，但是现代人刻意将其掩盖起来，变成充满恐惧，不安以及焦虑的意外事件。这书有中译本，我看英文原版觉得阅读体验非常好，笔触静谧深邃，文笔优美流畅。从现实到历史到中世纪文化亚马逊部落的仪式细密无缝地交织在一起。很抓人，又很触动。
