初看此书时很有司各特的感觉，也许都是以苏格兰为背景吧。苏格兰早早被苏格兰征服，成为英国的一部份，但由于司各特，苏格兰为世界广为所知。那剽悍的人民、悠扬的风笛和苏格兰长裙都是脍炙人口的内容。此书表现的一是金钱，叔叔为了金钱把侄子卖去当奴隶。二则是特殊的风土人...

学生时代类似这种中英文对照的图书有不少，最喜欢的还是B.C系列。这款书虫只能说一般。读过零星基本，制作也不精良，故事被简化得太厉害，同原著对比，差别太大。.

史蒂文森的有一部驚險小說，但是我看得要睡著了。開頭還挺刺激的，從他被賣到船上開始，就感覺越來越無聊了。其實還是比想看主人公和叔叔情節，中間太多蘇格蘭民族鬥爭，真沒啥興趣。
