Phir-lus, Salicar, Mintowe and Mapian; they are hybrids, half-angel and half-human. They are brothers having the same father but different mothers, and they are called by El to a singular purpose: to bring down the tyrant Seluku. Adopted by the old wizard Mahglyn, they were raised knowing their calling and what was expected of them. That doesnat stop the eldest and greatest of the brothers, Phir-lus, from falling in love and forsaking that calling for his love. Mankindas future teeters on the edge of destruction. Unforeseen consequences haunt Phir-lus and force him down a path of redemption, but will it be enough for mankindas deliverance? What is the price he will pay to save the one he loves? Only in the end does Phir-lus realize the special gift that will be given to mankind if only he can fulfill his call and allow himself to give up what he desires for the good of all.
