很典型的兒童文學。可愛的人真可愛，可惡的人太可惡。二戰中一個腳部先天畸形的女孩被母親虐待。在戰爭中，偶然被善良的Susan 收養，繼而發現瞭生命中的美好。騎著小馬馳騁，藉助拐杖行走，享受學習的樂趣。是一部純真又溫暖的小說。

過於平淡錶麵的敘述，有些情節也布置得特彆生硬。對白無力，無法凸顯人物的個性與魅力，感覺這句話換哪個人來說都可以。或許作者是有意為之，但是我真的不是很喜歡。
