幻视一家的破碎始于镰刀死神的袭击，但根本的“因”却是幻视夫妇（尤其是Virginia）愈发严重的自我异化。幻视出于爱，颠倒了善恶观，并在维克托·曼彻杀死Vin后彻底失去理智。“我曾拯救世界三十七次”的反复默念，是幻视站在道德洼地的自我催眠；正是出于此念头，他变得不信任甚至敌视人类，逐渐忘却了自己本也应是“人类”。Viv选择成为“人类”，却被母亲杀死了同学与狗，何其讽刺。而直到渐失人性的幻视击败了复仇者们，Virginia才终于意识到自己的过错，而唯一挽回的方式只能是自己揽下所有过错、然后死去。这场悲剧，其实在幻视造出自己家庭的那一刻便已注定——同样的故事继续上演，拥有旺达脑波的Virginia成了这一次的灾祸中心，也在这一次拯救了世界。幻视终究做不了毁灭者，正如在大银幕上成为救世主的父兄……
