想起去年在Madison的八周，某种程度上很理解康州的城乡二元对立。期间还有一次去Milwaukee的Fieldtrip，沿途所见都好荒凉。还有国庆日开车去明州，沿途真的很Rural。以及在Madison搬了两次家，第一次租的房间在Sheboygan，也是很冷清；第二次租在Eagleton那边，湖边风景优美，高大上的别墅区。UW的校园很不错，老师们也都很nice。我都能有这样的肤浅印象，更不要说康州本地人了。。。

consciousness似乎是个介于perception和identity之间的概念，其中既包含了对于政策的社会结果的想象，也包含了对于利益共同体的想象。但这些想象是如何被规划出来的？除了政治经济因素的自然塑形，一种隐藏的观念上的共识：新自由主义意识形态无孔不入的毒性却好像被忽视了。如果早点读到有很多立论的话语技巧可以借鉴。

方法论上有点弱；另，consciousness也有争议，让人觉得不对劲。但是我个人觉得social identity当做一种combination，还是有点意思的，human are complex...

The puzzle is prophetic and the qualitative evidence is rich, but the explanatory mechanisms being located seem a little suspicious - there's a danger of taking folk concepts for granted.
