Neglected after his death, Alma-Tadema's paintings are once again admired for their beauty and their remarkable mastery of light, colour and texture. Alma Tadema技巧要比安格尔好，属于叙事和考古还原的画家，比起人体更擅长画大理石和古罗马古埃及物质生活细节。也有人认为Alma Tadema是属于讨巧市场的画家但算不上是艺术家，他的作品太悦人眼球了。罗斯金非常讨厌他，认为其歪曲了古典美的定义。然而Alma Tadema一些作品之下包含的微妙讽刺正在渐渐被重新发现。部分图片有点糊、偏色，一些图偏小。
